Barisal got off to a good start chasing a big score with the bat of Mahmudullah

 

Yasir Ali Rabi's brilliant 94 off 47 balls faded in the face of Mahmudullah Riyad and Fahim Ashraf's storm. Newcomers Durbar Rajshahi set a huge target of 198 runs in front of defending champions Fortune Barisal in the opening match of BPL.

Fortune Barisal was in no shape at the start chasing runs. The team's two best batsmen, openers Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Tamim Iqbal showed utter failure, but Mahmudullah Riyad and Pakistani recruit Faheem Ashraf's two quick fifties in the seventh wicket partnership allowed Barisal to win with 11 balls in hand.
